Forensic anthropologists at the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) determine a person’s identity based on body parts and bones, and analyze any damage to the bones.
Biological Profile
In anthropology, the primary focus is determining the identity of a living or deceased person. At the request of the police or the Public Prosecution Service, the forensic anthropologist examines body parts and (cremated) bones. Based on this examination, they establish a biological profile containing information such as sex and estimated age at death. The anthropologist also investigates traces and damage on the bones.
